Start with what must stay powered, not with a generator size. Phones, lights, medical devices, refrigeration and heating/cooling equipment have very different loads and consequences.
Step 1: list critical loads
Record each device's watts and how many hours you expect to run it. Appliances with motors or compressors can have higher startup demand than their running wattage.
Step 2: separate power from energy
Watts describe how much power a device needs at a moment. Watt-hours describe stored energy. A power station must meet both the output requirement and the runtime requirement.
Step 3: plan recharging
Wall charging is useful before an outage; vehicle and solar charging can add resilience when grid power is unavailable. Prepared Bee currently carries EcoFlow DELTA and RIVER power stations plus portable solar panels, so this cluster has a direct merchant path.
